Miranda Lambert’s “Smokin’ and Drinkin'” Ranks as Country Radio’s Most Added; Clare Dunn Follows

In November 2014, Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town performed “Smokin’ and Drinkin'” before millions of CMA Awards viewers.

Cut from Lambert’s “Platinum,” the song finally impacted country radio this week. A healthy number of country radio programmers took notice.

According to Mediabase, “Smokin’ and Drinkin’ (featuring Little Big Town)” won adds from 33 monitored stations this week. That count earns the tune, which is the fourth official single from Lambert’s “Platinum,” the country radio format’s most added distinction.

News of the format-leading add week comes as “Smokin'” makes its first appearance on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The recipient of 1.277 million weekly audience impressions, “Smokin'” starts at #55 on the chart.

— One other song impacted country alongside “Smokin’ and Drinkin’.” That song also received ample support from programmers.

Added by 32 stations, Clare Dunn’s “Move On” lands the second-most added distinction. Dunn is featured as part of Miranda Lambert’s “Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars” tour.

Florida Georgia Line’s new “Anything Goes” follows with 31 adds, while Keith Urban’s “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” and Kenny Chesney’s “Save it for a Rainy Day” tie for fourth-most added on the strength of 20 adds each.

Other notable country options: Sam Hunt’s “House Party” (14 adds, 6th-most added), Cam’s “Burning House” (11 adds, 7th), Chris Young’s “I’m Comin’ Over” (10 adds, 8th, tie), The Cadillac Three’s “White Lightning” (10 adds, 8th, tie), Billy Currington’s “Drinkin’ Town with a Football Problem” (8 adds, 10th, tie), Dierks Bentley’s “Riser” (8 adds, 10th, tie), Darius Rucker’s “Southern Style” (8 adds, 10th, tie), Hunter Hayes’ “21” (8 adds, 10th, tie), Tyler Farr’s “Withdrawals” (8 adds, 10th, tie).
