Breaking Benjamin Tops Rock Radio for 7th Week; X Ambassadors’ “Renegades” Leads Alt

On May 10, Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” and Muse’s “Dead Inside” concurrently rose to the tops of the Mediabase active rock and alternative airplay charts, respectively.

Last week, “Dead Inside” finally ceded its throne to X Ambassadors’ breakthrough hit “Renegades.” “Failure,” however, earned a sixth week atop the active rock listing.

This week, it extends that reign to seven weeks.

Spun 2,092 times during the June 14-20 tracking week, “Failure” remains #1 on the chart. Theory of a Deadman’s “Angel,” which repeats as runner-up, follows with 1,854 weekly spins.

Royal Blood’s “Little Monster” (#3, 1,607), Three Days Grace’s “Human Race” (#4, 1,589) and Halestorm’s “Amen” (#5, 1,420) complete the top five.

Up one place from last week’s position, the Halestorm song is making its first appearance in the rock format’s Top 5.

— As Breaking Benjamin celebrates a seventh week atop active rock, X Ambassadors earns a second at #1 on the alternative airplay chart. Still rapidly gaining airplay, the band’s “Renegades” repeats at #1 on the strength of its 2,777 tracking week spins.

twenty one pilots’ “Tear in My Heart” climbs into the runner-up slot (#2, 2,398), while Muse’s “Dead Inside” (#3, 2,170), Of Monsters and Men’s “Crystals” (#4, 1,906) and Vance Joy’s “Mess is Mine” (#5, 1,717) complete the top five.
