OMI’s “Cheerleader” Surges to #1 on iTunes Sales Chart

OMI’s “Cheerleader” continues to deliver on expectations that it would become a major US hit in the summer of 2015.

In addition to reaching #7 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, the international smash now ranks as the best-selling song on the US iTunes store.

Felix Jaehn’s radio remix of “Cheerleader” ascended to #1 — and leapfrogged Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” — early Friday afternoon.

“Cheerleader” just recently crossed the half-million sales mark, but with interest continuing to swell, it will be able to join the million club within a few weeks.

“Fight Song” (#2), Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” (#3), Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” (#4) and Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth)” (#5) occupy the balance of the top five.
