Florence + The Machine Wins Sales Race with 128K; Willie/Merle, Currington, Lil Durk Debut (Updated)

Update: An opening week sales total of 128,000 powers Florence + The Machine’s “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” to #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

The album is the first Florence + The Machine release to win a weekly sales race.

With Track Equivalent Album (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Album (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) data included, its first week consumption total registers at 137,000 units. That earns the album the #1 spot on the revamped Billboard 200.

Thanks to a total more than three times as great as that posted by its nearest competitor, Florence + The Machine’s “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” cruises to victory in the weekly album sales race.

According to Hits Daily Double, the new Florence album moved ~127,995 copies in its first week of release. While Billboard’s final, more authoritative data may differ slightly, its overall conclusion will be the same: “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” ranks as the week’s #1 album. It will debut atop the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

With Track Equivalent Album (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Album (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) data included, the Florence + The Machine album boasts a first-week consumption total of ~138,139 units. That mark will earn it the #1 spot on the revamped Billboard 200.
