Ratings: NBC’s “Hannibal” Sets Premiere Low; “Aquarius” Slips By 36% (Updated)

Update: According to final broadcast data, NBC’s “Hannibal” began its third season with a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating and 2.575 million total viewers.

The episode was the lowest-rated and least-watched season premiere on record. The demo number, meanwhile, ties a series low for any “Hannibal” episode.

Airing on February 28, 2014, the season two “Hannibal” premiere drew a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 3.27 million viewers. The April 4, 2013 series premiere was good for a 1.6 with 4.36 million viewers.

“Aquarius,” which led into Thursday’s “Hannibal” premiere, drew a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with 3.704 million viewers. Both numbers were down sharply those of last week’s two-hour premiere, which generated a 1.1 with 5.67 million viewers.

In conjunction with that premiere, NBC made all “Aquarius” episodes available for on-demand streaming.

Both “Aquarius” and “Hannibal” faced competition from ABC’s mammoth NBA Finals broadcast. Game one between the Warriors and Cavaliers drew a 6.9 rating with 17.768 million viewers.

Both marks represent premiere lows for the acclaimed drama. Airing on February 28, 2014, last year’s “Hannibal” premiere posted a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 3.27 million viewers.

The April 4, 2013 series premiere was good for a 1.6 with 4.36 million viewers.
