Luke Bryan’s “Kick the Dust Up” Opens in Country Radio’s Rolling Top 40

Supported by hourly spins from iHeartMedia stations and excitement over a new Luke Bryan release, new single “Kick the Dust Up” opens within the Top 40 of Mediabase’s rolling country radio chart.

According to Mediabase, “Kick the Dust Up” received 1,140 spins on its first day of release. Thanks to that play count, the song received enough chart points to debut at #39 on the rolling listing (if the chart were based on pure airplay rather than points, “Kick the Dust Up” would rank at #38).

That rolling chart is based on airplay for the entire week between May 13 and 19.

The song’s first day audience impression count of 9.09 million ranks as that entire week’s 37th-largest.

Because the panels and airplay landscapes are not identical, it is impossible to make an apples-to-apples comparison between the first day performance of “Kick the Dust Up” and those of Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” and Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt.”

Those songs, which launched last summer and also received promotional iHeartMedia airplay, scored 1,091 and 993 first day spins, respectively. Their audience impression counts were measured at 10.26 million and 9.65 million.

“Kick the Dust Up” is the lead single from Bryan’s “Kill the Lights.”
