Tyler Farr’s “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” Officially Claims #1 at Country Radio

For the third time in his career, Tyler Farr claims the #1 spot on Mediabase’s country radio singles chart.

Farr’s latest trip to the top of the country radio mountain comes courtesy enduring single “A Guy Walks Into a Bar.” The track, which first emerged last year and ultimately served as the lead single for the recently released “Suffer in Peace,” replaces Keith Urban’s “Raise ‘Em Up (featuring Eric Church)” in the #1 spot.

Not simply the leader in Mediabase chart points, “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” was also this past week’s most-played and most-heard country song. It received format-leading spin and audience impression counts of ~8,306 and 58.698 million during the May 10-16 tracking week.

Officially #1 on Mediabase, Farr’s “Bar” is currently leading the rolling edition of Billboard’s corresponding Country Airplay chart. If it can hold onto that lead until the official chart is released on Monday, it would become the country artist’s first #1 hit on that particular chart.

“Redneck Crazy” and “Whiskey in My Water,” which both hit #1 on Mediabase, peaked at #3 on Billboard.

The aforementioned “Raise ‘Em Up” slips to #5 on this week’s edition of the chart. Billy Currington’s “Don’t It” (#2), A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke” (#3) and Florida Georgia Line’s “Sippin’ on Fire” (#4) form the remainder of the Top 5.
