SNL Ratings: Louis CK, Rihanna Finale Performs Modestly; Up in Households, Down in Demo

Neither the draw of the season finale nor the involvement of Louis CK and Rihanna helped drive a notable ratings boost for this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” finale.

Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 3.8 overnight household rating and a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

While the household rating is up slightly from last week’s 3.7, the demo rating is down from the 2.0 drawn by that edition. Last week’s “SNL” featured host Reese Witherspoon and musical guest Florence + The Machine.

Much like last season, “SNL” suffered a cold streak this spring. No episode since the Chris Hemsworth-Zac Brown Band edition on March 7 was able to reach the 4.0 threshold in the overnight households.

Louis CK’s previous hosting appearance, which came on March 29, 2014 and featured musical guest Sam Smith, drew a 4.0 household rating and a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

Airing on November 10, 2012, Rihanna’s last musical visit came on an Anne Hathaway-hosted episode. It drew a 5.0 household rating and a 2.6 in adults 18-49.
