Ratings: “ACM Presents: Superstar Duets” Underwhelms, Ranks 3rd in Timeslot

Friday’s “ACM Presents: Superstar Duets” special was network television’s #3 program in the 9-11PM timeslot.

Per fast national data, CBS’ “Superstar Duets” drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 4.70 million total viewers in the 9-10PM hour and a 0.7 with 5.24 million viewers from 10-11PM.

The CBS special trailed the competitive ABC and NBC programs in both timeslots. ABC aired “Beyond the Tank” at 9PM (1.5, 6.25 million) and “20/20” at 10PM (1.1, 5.50 million). NBC ran “Dateline” at both 9PM (0.8, 5.12 million) and 10PM (0.9, 5.69 million).

While “Superstar Duets” skewed in favor of older audiences, it interestingly ranked better with the younger half of the adults 18-49 demographic. While it was also its timeslot’s #3 show in adults 25-54, it tied the 9PM “Dateline” (0.4 vs. 0.4) and bested the 10PM “Dateline” (0.5 vs. 0.4) in adults 18-34.

Taped last month, “Superstar Duets” featured a myriad of collaborations between high-profile names. Some of the pairings matched current stars with genre veterans.
