Rozzi Crane’s performance on the April 28 edition of “The Voice” was not a career gamechanger, but it did spur noticeable sales increases for her single “Psycho” and EP “Space.”
According to Nielsen Music, Crane’s single “Psycho” moved approximately 6,000 copies during the April 27-May 3 tracking week. While not enough to earn “Psycho” a place on the Digital Songs subchart, let alone the overall Billboard Hot 100, it did represent a massive week-over-week uptick. It moved only a nominal number of copies during the previous tracking week.
Nielsen confirms that her “Space” EP, which features “Psycho,” shifted approximately 2,000 units during that tracking week. It, too, failed to register many scans during the previous tracking week.
The total neither earns “Space” a place on the consumption-driven Billboard 200 nor on the pure sales Top Album Sales chart, but it does score the EP the #7 on spot on “Heatseeker Albums.” That chart lists the top albums from acts that have neither appeared within the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 nor the Top 10 of any genre-specific album chart.
Interscope originally announced a 5/5 pop radio impact date for the song. In the days prior to Crane’s “The Voice” appearance, it interestingly removed the track from its radio promotions website. No update on the song’s radio future was available at press time.
Crane is signed to Adam Levine’s 222 Records imprint.
