Lightning struck twice for Team Christina contestant India Carney, who once again survived thanks to the “Instant Save.”
Tuesday’s “The Voice” results show was not, however, a purely celebratory one for coach Christina Aguilera. While she did witness Carney win the week’s Instant Save–and a trip to the Top 5 semifinal round–she also had to say goodbye to contestant Kimberly Nichole.
Nichole joined Carney in the weekly bottom two. Instant Save voters could only save one of the Team Christina contestants, and a very narrow majority opted to keep Carney around.
Prior to the Instant Save vote, Carney made her case for survival with a rendition of “Perfect.” Nichole campaigned with “Seven Nation Army.”
Nichole’s elimination leaves Team Pharrell as the only one with two semifinalists. Sawyer Fredericks and Koryn Hawwthorne will compete on behalf of Pharrell’s team next week.
Teams Adam, Blake and Christina will rely exclusively on Joshua Davis, Meghan Linsey and India Carney, respectively, next week.
