On Monday, May 4, ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will introduce the world to Imagine REO Speedragons.
The talk show’s “Mash Up Mondays” concept is back, and Imagine Dragons and REO Speedwagon are the first bands due for a special collaboration.
““I talked to Wayne from Imagine Dragons yesterday, and both our bands are totally psyched about doing the ‘Mash Up Monday,'” says REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin. “We all love Jimmy, and we’re gonna play one of our favorites like it’s never been played before. IMAGINE REO SPEEDRAGONS is gonna rock!”
Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds added, “IMAGINE REO SPEEDRAGONS was destined to happen since the day Zeus thrust his mighty bolt to the earth.”
Per ABC’s official, albeit tentative, “Kimmel” listings, Imagine Dragons is also slated for an independent performance on the Tuesday, May 5 edition of the show. If indeed still in the plans, the performance will presumably be something that was taped at the band’s May 4 outdoor concert.
Other upcoming musical guests include Maroon 5 (5/6) and Brandon Flowers (5/7).
