Update: Final broadcast data confirms that this week’s “The Blacklist” sank to series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.
This week’s edition of the second-year NBC drama drew a mere 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 6.60 million total viewers. The numbers trailed those of last week’s installment, which drew a 1.5 with 7.47 million viewers.
At the time, those numbers represented lows for “The Blacklist.”
NBC’s night also included a “Blacklist” re-run at 8PM (0.5, 3.10 million) and “Dateline” at 10PM (0.9, 5.01 million).
==============
For the second consecutive week, NBC’s “The Blacklist” delivered series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.
Per fast national data, this week’s episode drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 6.44 million viewers. Even if both numbers receive slight upward adjustments in the final ratings report, they will doubtfully match the 1.5 rating and 7.47 million viewership average posted by last week’s telecast.
And insofar as both of those numbers were series lows at the time, it appears this week’s “The Blacklist” will indeed represent a low point for the series.
While the competitive 9PM hour of this week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” (2.6, 8.68 million) outperformed last week’s “Scandal” (2.3, 7.79 million), it was not as hot as “Scandal” was when “The Blacklist” first arrived in the timeslot.
Consequently, competition alone is not to blame.
And while leading into the 9PM “Blacklist” original with an 8PM “Blacklist” re-run (0.5, 3.17 million) is not helping matters, it is not as if “The Slap” was providing “The Blacklist” with a monster lead-in earlier this year.
NBC closed its Thursday with “Dateline” (0.9, 5.08 million).
