RDMA Ratings: Radio Disney Music Awards Viewership Falls By 34%

Viewership for the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards ceremony significantly trailed that of the 2014 edition.

Sunday’s RDMA broadcast drew a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 2.137 million viewers. The 2015 edition managed a notably stronger 0.5 rating with 3.238 million viewers.

Ratings for Disney Channel’s core youth demographics were not available at press time, but all indications are that this year’s ceremony endured declines in those marks as well.

Airing on April 27, 2014, last year’s RDMA featured performances by Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Zendaya, R5, Becky G and Fifth Harmony. This year’s edition featured some of the same performers–Fifth Harmony, Becky G and R5–but did not include Grande or Mahone (Zendaya did not perform this year but did appear as host).

It instead added musical numbers from names like Nick Jonas, Rachel Platten, Sabrina Carpenter, Natalie La Rose, Tori Kelly, Sheppard and Shawn Mendes.

— Featuring Sweet Suspense, Kelsea Ballerini and Jacquie Lee, the “ARDY’s Pre-Show Party” drew a 0.25 adults 18-49 rating with 1.493 million viewers.
