Alabama Shakes’ “Sound & Color” Pacing to Win Sales Race with 80-85K

Alabama Shakes’ new “Sound & Color” is on track to reach #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.

According to Hits Daily Double, the band’s sophomore album is projected to move 80-85,000 traditional copies during the current tracking week. With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, “Sound & Color” should net a first week consumption total of 85-90,000 units.

Career highs for the band, the numbers will also be enough for #1 bows on the aforementioned two charts.

Other notable performers on the Top Album Sales chart will include Yelawolf’s “Love Story” (~45-50,000 pure sales), Reba’s “Love Somebody” (~24-27,000 pure sales), Mana’s “Cama Incendiada” (~24-27,000 pure sales), Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” (~20-23,000 pure sales) and Taylor Swift’s “1989” (~20-23,000 pure sales).

Albums expected to most closely follow “Sound & Color” on the consumption-oriented Billboard 200 include “Furious 7” (~55-60,000 total units), “Love Story” (~50-55,000 total units), “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” (~35-40,000 total units), the “50 Shades of Grey” soundtrack (~35-40,000 total units) and Sam Hunt’s “Montevallo” (~35-40,000 total units).
