Thompson Square’s “Trans Am” Ranks as Country Radio’s Most Added (Updated)

Update: Thanks to pickups from 56 monitored stations, Thompson Square’s “Trans Am” earns country radio’s most added honor in conjunction with its official impact.

According to Mediabase, Thomas Rhett’s new “Crash and Burn” follows with 36 weekly adds. Given that the song does not formally go for adds until April 27, the showing of support is very impressive.

Added by 35 stations, Toby Keith’s “35 MPH Town” follows as the week’s third-most added song. Blake Shelton’s “Sangria” (26 adds, 4th-most added) and Gary Allan’s “Hangover Tonight (featuring Chris Stapleton)” (20 adds, 5th-most added) also had good weeks.

The lead release from Thompson Square’s forthcoming studio album ranks as country radio’s most added song this week.

“Trans Am,” that lead single, received 56 monitored adds in conjunction with this week’s official impact.

According to Mediabase, no song received more support from programmers this week.

“Trans Am” kicks off the duo’s third album cycle. Previous album “Just Feels Good” produced legitimate hits in “If I Didn’t Have You” and “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About.”

Later singles “Testing the Water” and “I Can’t Outrun You” did not, however, resonate at country radio.

A more detailed weekly adds report will be available Monday evening.
