Ratings Update: “AD: The Bible Continues,” “American Odyssey” Sink in Week 2

Update: NBC’s “AD: The Bible Continues” and “American Odyssey” both suffered sizable ratings declines this week.

According to fast national data, NBC’s 9PM “AD” drew a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating with 7.63 million viewers. Last week’s premiere drew a 2.3 with 9.68 million viewers in the finals.

Lead-out “American Odyssey” also slipped. This week’s episode drew a 0.8 with 4.17 million total viewers in the fast nationals. Last week’s series launch scored a 1.1 with 5.37 million in the finals.

While it surely fared well from a competitive standpoint, episode two of NBC’s “AD: The Bible Continues” suffered a sizable week-over-week loss in the overnight ratings.

Per metered market data, “AD” drew a 4.6 overnight household rating. Last week’s premiere scored a considerably stronger 6.1.

Final broadcast data later revealed that “AD” drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating with 9.68 million viewers. “The Bible” will likely drop in those columns as well, although it is not yet clear whether the declines will mirror the 25% loss in households.

“American Odyssey,” which followed “AD,” also slipped this week. Its 2.5 overnight household rating trailed last week’s premiere number by 24%.

To go along with last week’s 3.3 overnight household rating, “Odyssey” drew a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 5.37 million viewers. Since those numbers were already concerning, a visible decline this week–even one of less significance than the 24% overnight fall–would definitely be troubling.

Adults 18-49 and total viewership data should be available by 11:15AM.
