“Home,” “Get Hard” Claim Top Two Spots at Box Office; “It Follows” Enters Top 5

The weekend’s two high-profile new releases predictably claimed the top two spots at the weekend box office.

“Home” and “Get Hard,” those new entries, claim the #1 and #2 slots courtesy their respective grosses of $54.0 million and $34.6 million (per studio estimates).

“Insurgent,” last week’s leader, slips to #3 on this weekend’s box office breakdown. It followed last weekend’s $52.3 million bow with $22.1 million in second week receipts.

“Cinderella” grabs #4 this week with $17.5 million, while the expanded “It Follows” earns the #5 spot on the strength of its $4.0 million.

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” (#6, $3.1 million), “Run All Night” (#7, $2.2 million), The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (#8, #2.2 million), “Do You Believe?” (#9, $2.2 million) and “The Gunman” (#10, $2.1 million) also claim top ten positions this week.
