While its performance has been very modest by Sam Smith standards, single “Lay Me Down” nonetheless crosses a new checkpoint at pop radio this week.
The latest release from Smith’s “In the Lonely Hour” enters the Top 25 on this week’s official Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
The recipient of 3,061 weekly spins, “Lay Me Down” jumps three places to a new peak of #24 on this week’s chart.
“Lay Me Down” becomes the third straight Top 25 pop hit from “In the Lonely Hour” and the fifth of Smith’s overall career. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also reached the Top 25 as a featured artist on Naughty Boy’s “La La La” and Disclosure’s “Latch.”
— Nicki Minaj’s “Truffle Butter (featuring Drake and Lil Wayne)” re-enters the Top 25 on this week’s chart. It rises one place to #25 on the strength of its 3,037 weekly spins.
— Walk the Moon’s surging “Shut Up and Dance” blasts into the weekly Top 30. Spun 2,174 times during the March 15-21 tracking week, the crossover alternative hit rises six places to #26.
— LunchMoney Lewis’ “Bills” also reaches the Top 30 this week. It jumps one place to #30 thanks to its 1,927 tracking week spins.
