Ratings: “Reign” Slips in Demo, Adds Viewers; “Vampire Diaries” Gains in Both (Updated)

Update: A downward adjustment in the final ratings report brought this week’s “Reign” rating below last week’s mark.

According to that final data, this week’s “Reign” drew a 0.3 adults 18-49 rating with 1.09 million viewers. The audience total exceeds last week’s 0.96 million mark, but the rating trails the previous episode’s 0.4.

Lead-in “The Vampire Diaries” rose in both columns this week. It bested last week’s 0.6 rating/1.30 million viewership mark with a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating and a 1.59 million viewership total.

The CW’s “Reign” and “The Vampire Diaries” both received good news in the fast national ratings report.

9PM drama “Reign” matched last week’s 0.4 adults 18-49 rating but enjoyed an uptick in total viewership. After reaching 0.96 million viewers last week, “Reign” attracted an audience of 1.09 million this week.

Likely of assistance was an improved performance from lead-in “The Vampire Diaries.” After dipping to a series low 0.6 rating with 1.30 million viewers last week, “TVD” posted a 0.7 with 1.56 million this week.

“TVD” potentially benefited from the absence of CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory.” The Eye aired the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament in the slot this week, and it drew less than half of what “Big Bang” typically does.
