Last week’s edition of “Better Call Saul” drew instant–and endless–rave reviews from critics and viewers. Deemed a television classic by some and a ticket to Jonathan Banks’ Best Supporting Actor Emmy by virtually all, the episode established the “Breaking Bad” spin-off as an elite drama.
With renewed excitement on its side, “Better Call Saul” predictably enjoyed a ratings uptick this week.
This Monday’s “Saul” scored a 1.31 adults 18-49 rating with 2.67 million viewers.
While the performance only slightly bests that of last week’s episode, which drew a 1.26 adults 18-49 rating and 2.57 million viewers, it represents the first week-over-week viewership gain for the AMC series.
A strong performer by AMC and cable standards that is already renewed for season two, “Better Call Saul” was never endangered by its string of slight week-over-week viewership losses.
Not urgently needed, this week’s gain is nonetheless appreciated.
