Ratings: “The Last Man on Earth” Falls 21% in Week Three

Not the comedic answer to FOX’s own “Empire,” new series “The Last Man on Earth” fell another 21% in week three.

After sinking from a 2.4 premiere adults 18-49 rating to a 1.9 in week two, “LMOE” dipped to 1.5 this week. This week’s viewership average of 3.69 million also represented a sizable decline from the 4.35 million mark posted by last week’s telecast.

Insofar as the previous two “Last Man on Earth” airings were adjusted up in the finals, it is possible the record books will reveal a slightly stronger performance for the latest episode. Those books will not, however, reflect success in avoiding a week three decline.

To the series’ credit, FOX’s other Sunday programs also fell this week. “Bob’s Burgers” drew a 1.0 with 2.27 million viewers (down from last week’s 1.2 with 2.56 million), “The Simpsons” posted a 1.5 with 3.61 million viewers (down from last week’s 1.6 with 3.79 million), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” scored a 1.4 with 2.99 million viewers (down from last week’s 1.5 with 3.11 million) and “Family Guy” garnered a 1.7 with 3.54 million viewers (down from last week’s 2.1 with 3.98 million viewers).
