Pop radio is not yet able to reveal who he is, but it definitely likes his song.
“Goodbye,” the debut single from the mysterious act billed as “Who is Fancy,” enters the Top 30 on this week’s edition of the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
Who is Fancy’s tune claims #29 (+2) thanks to the 1,773 spins it received during the March 8-14 tracking week.
The pop radio rise comes as “Goodbye” knocks on the door of the Billboard Hot 100. It appears at #2 on this week’s edition of the Billboard “Bubbling Under Hot 100” chart, which lists the top songs that have yet to reach the actual Hot 100.
Republic’s radio promotions team pushes male singer-songwriter (Who is) Fancy as a Scott Borchetta-Scooter Braun signing.
— “Goodbye” is not the only new Top 30 entrant this week. In addition to welcoming “Goodbye” and Jason Derulo’s new “Want to Want Me” (which debuts at #23), the Top 30 also provides a new home for Echosmith’s “Bright.”
“Bright,” which is currently receiving the most favorable reaction from pop listeners, rises two places to #30 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio chart. It received 1,685 tracking week spins.
Like “Goodbye,” “Bright” is on the verge of entering the Billboard Hot 100. It appears at #5 on this week’s “Bubbling Under” chart.
It is also making a run at the hot adult contemporary format. “Bright” is this week’s #21 Hot AC song.
