Natalie La Rose’s “Somebody” is Now One of Pop’s 10 Most Played Songs

The fall of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” has created a vacancy in the top ten of Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart.

Natalie La Rose’s breakthrough hit “Somebody (featuring Jeremih)” is on track to fill that open position.

Thanks to the 7,575 spins it received between March 6 and 12, “Somebody” rises to #10 on Friday’s rolling edition of the Mediabase pop chart. If it can retain its position through Sunday–and its current airplay growth rate suggests it will do so–it will establish itself as a Top 10 hit on the official, weekly edition of the chart.

Losing more than 100 spins per day, “Blank Space” poses no real threat of reclaiming its top ten position. “Somebody” will remain ahead of “Blank Space” on the pop radio airplay chart.

If a challenge were to emerge, it would come from Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time.” That song, which is currently #12 but set to imminently seize #11 from “Blank Space,” trails “Somebody” by only 213 spins. Closing such a gap by Sunday is not an inconceivable endeavor.

Current trending data, however, suggests that “Somebody” will hold onto its lead and officially secure a Top 10 spot.

— In addition to reaching the Top 10 at pop, “Somebody” is set to claim a Top 5 position on Mediabase’s official rhythmic airplay chart. It is #4 on Friday’s rolling edition of the chart.
