An abbreviated release week was all Drake’s “Energy” needed to land in the Top 50 of last week’s Billboard Hot 100.
A full week of availability provided “Energy” with enough sales and streaming points to reach the Top 30 on this week’s chart.
The track, which is cut from his surprise mixtape/album “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” soars twenty three places to a new peak of #26 this week.
One of several lead Drake tracks on the chart, it is the only positioned within the Top 50, let alone 30. The hip-hop artist is also represented by “Legend” (#52), “10 Bands” (#58) “Know Yourself” (#70), “No Tellin’ (#81), “Preach (featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR)” (#82), “6 God” (#83), “Used To (featuring Lil Wayne)” (#84), “Now & Forever” (#95) and “6 Man” (#97).
As far as the top 30 goes, two other songs fly into the mix this week. The first is Natalie La Rose’s “Somebody (featuring Jeremih),” which follows last week’s Top 40 entry with a Top 30 entry this week. The song rises ten places to #27.
Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life,” meanwhile, vaults twenty six places to a new high of #28.
