Hot 100: Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” Hits #3, The Weeknd Goes Top 10

The week following the release of “50 Shades of Grey” proved very fruitful to the soundtrack’s two official singles.

Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do,” which last week rose to #6 on the chart, vaults to #3 on this week’s listing. While it remains one spot shy of Goulding’s career peak (“Lights” hit #2), “Love Me Like You Do” is proving to be a massive success story for the UK artist.

The song’s three position Hot 100 rise comes in association with a three place rise on the Digital Songs subchart. With weekly sales of 205,000, “Love Me Like You Do” was the week’s #2 seller. Only “Uptown Fuk” (257,000) had a stronger sales week.

“Love Me Like You Do” also enjoys gains on the Streaming Songs (#3, +3; 9.6 million, +30%) and Radio Songs subcharts (#17, +11; 52 million impressions, +21%).

— The Weeknd’s “50 Shades” single “Earned It” also enjoys a Hot 100 boost this week. The track rises three places to #9 on the chart.

It, too, enjoys gains on the key subcharts: Digital Songs (#6, +3; 120,000, +18%), Streaming Songs (#4, +14; 8.3 million, +53%) and Radio Songs (22 million, +37%).
