Ratings: “Better Call Saul” Drops Only Slightly for Episode Three

That last Monday’s “Better Call Saul” was destined to lose a sizable portion of its “The Walking Dead”-assisted premiere audience did not make the ratings report any less jarring.

In delivering a 1.63 adults 18-49 rating with 3.42 million viewers, last Monday’s time period premiere trailed the special Sunday series premiere by 53% and 50%, respectively.

That so many Sunday samplers refrained from returning Monday raised concern about whether the show’s approach would alienate additional viewers in subsequent weeks.

That remains a possibility, but it did not occur in a notable manner this week.

In delivering a 1.58 adults 18-49 rating with 3.23 million viewers, this Monday’s “Better Call Saul” nearly matched last week’s broadcast.

While no drop is ideal, dips of 3% in adults 18-49 and 5% in viewership are not especially alarming for a serialized drama’s third episode.
