Music buyers absolutely love Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do.”
Want proof? Look at the US iTunes single sales chart, which currently features the Goulding tune in the #1 position.
The surge to #1 comes following the release of “50 Shades of Grey.” “Love Me” is an official single from the film’s hot-selling soundtrack, which will debut at #2 on this week’s Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts.
“Love Me Like You Do” is also enjoying success at pop and hot adult contemporary radio. Per the latest rolling Mediabase charts, it is the #15 song at pop radio and the #17 song at Hot AC.
To get to #1, “Love Me Like You Do” sent Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” to the #2 position. Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” (#3), Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” (#4) and Taylor Swift’s “Wonderland” (#5) complete the top five.
