The follow-up to the Grammy-winning “Something in the Water” is this week’s most-added song at country radio.
According to Mediabase, Carrie Underwood’s new “Little Toy Guns” won pickups from 58 monitored stations in conjunction with its official impact. The latest wave of support will help the song, which is already in the Top 50 of Mediabase’s country airplay chart, continue climbing at the format.
“Little Toy Guns” was not, however, the only song to earn a warm reception from country programmers. Michael Ray’s “Kiss You in the Morning” also scored this week.
Second-most-added for the week, “Kiss You in the Morning” launched at a healthy 50 monitored stations.
Other noteworthy options this week included Kenny Chesney’s “Wild Child (featuring Grace Potter)” (3rd-most-added, 25 adds), Big & Rich’s “Run Away with You” (4th-most-added, 16 adds) and Brad Paisley’s “Crushin’ It” (5th-most-added, 13 adds).
Just outside of the weekly top five was Craig Wayne Boyd’s “My Baby’s Got a Smile On Her Face.” The song, which represents “The Voice” winner’s post-show debut release, was sixth-most-added with 12 pickups.
