Grammys: Pharrell’s “Happy” Wins for Best Music Video

The Grammys Premiere Ceremony has thus far assured two of the year’s three most-nominated acts will not go home empty-handed.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, it awarded Beyonce’s self-titled album the “Best Surround Sound Album” trophy. Moments ago, the ceremony handed a trophy to the team behind Pharrell’s “Happy” music video.

Awarded We Are From LA (video director) and Kathleen Heffernan, Solal Micenmacher, Jett Steiger (video producers), the trophy honors the viral “Happy” video as the year’s best. It beat out the videos for Sia’s “Chandelier,” Arcade Fire’s “We Exist,” DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” and Woodkid’s “The Golden Age.”

Like Beyonce (and Sam Smith), Pharrell is up for six awards at the 57th annual Grammy Awards.
