Taylor Swift’s “1989” Crosses the 6 Million Worldwide Sales Mark

In crossing the 4 million mark after twelve weeks, “1989” provided yet another illustration of Taylor Swift’s commercial prowess in the United States.

That prowess is not limited to her home country.

While her star shines brightest in the United States, it shines across the globe. The latest worldwide sales figure for Swift’s “1989” offers proof of that notion.

With last week’s 120,000 sales included, “1989” now claims a cumulative, worldwide total of 6.04 million. 4.19 million of those come from the US.

Even if she goes home without a Grammy this Sunday, news that of the latest “1989” achievement will not be the only bright spot of Taylor Swift’s weekend. “Style,” her latest single, is poised to reach the top ten on Sunday’s official edition of the Mediabase US pop radio airplay chart.
