Providing support for the notion that Republic finally settled on the right mainstream follow-up to Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” the hip-hop superstar’s “Truffle Butter (featuring Drake and Lil Wayne)” is already one of pop radio’s 40 most-played songs.
Not due to formally impact the format until March 3 (although it has already been added by a handful of stations), “Truffle Butter” appears at #39 on Saturday’s edition of the rolling Mediabase pop airplay chart. Its position comes courtesy the 1,056 spins it received between January 31 and February 6.
Obviously still on the rise, “Truffle Butter” is a lock to secure a Top 40 position on the official version of Mediabase’s pop chart. Set to be revealed Sunday evening, that chart will measure airplay between February 1 and February 7.
“Truffle Butter” will join Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” in officially becoming a Top 40 pop hit this weekend. Flo Rida’s “GDFR (featuring Sage the Gemini and Lookas)” might be able to make the leap as well.
— Successful at multiple formats, “Truffle Butter” is currently #11 on the rolling rhythmic airplay chart and #13 on the rolling urban chart.
