Taylor Swift Says She’s Not Performing at the Grammys

Those wondering why the Recording Academy has yet to confirm a Taylor Swift performance for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards just received the answer: she is not performing.

In a post on her official Tumblr, Swift confirmed that while she will be attending the event and presenting one of the awards, she will not be performing on the show.

“I’m really excited to be nominated for 3 Grammys this year and even more excited that I’ll be there having a dance party/rage fest in the audience,” began Swift’s entry. “I will also be presenting the award for Best New Artist.”

At that point, the entry takes a turn for the worse — at least for those anticipating a Swift performance.

“Since my whole life is wrapped up and entangled in the planning of The 1989 World Tour right now, I’m not going to be performing on the Grammys this year. I need this time to focus only on the tour.”

CBS and the Recording Academy are due to reveal several more performers this week. Taylor Swift, it seems, will not be one of them.
