Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” Hits Top 5 at Pop Radio

Thanks to another impressive weekly airplay gain, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” is now a top five hit at pop radio.

Sheeran’s “Thinking,” which was #8 on last week’s edition of the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, will claim #4 on this week’s listing. Due Sunday evening, the chart will confirm that “Thinking Out Loud” commanded approximately 13,283 spins (+2,097) during the January 25-January 31 tracking week.

Only Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” (18,007), Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (13,911) and Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” (13,891) received more pop airplay during the aforementioned tracking period. Only Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s new “FourFiveSeconds,” which benefited from being a new song and promotional airplay on January 25, enjoyed a bigger week-over-week spin gain (+3,932).

“Thinking Out Loud” also appears at #3 on the hot adult contemporary airplay chart, #11 on the adult contemporary chart and #27 on the rhythmic listing.
