Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” is Now Pop’s Most-Played Song

The reign of “Jealous” will end after a single week.

According to the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart, Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars),” not Nick Jonas’ “Jealous,” is the most-played song at pop radio. Ronson’s hit commanded 15,889 pop spins between January 15 and 21, while Jonas’ release only received 15,859.

Insofar as “Funk” is rapidly gaining airplay while “Jealous” is beginning to lose radio support, it will only expand its lead as the week progresses.

That means that when Mediabase issues its official airplay chart on Sunday, “Uptown Funk” will be formally crowned #1 at pop. The ascent to pop’s top spot comes as “Uptown Funk” enjoys a third week as the leader on Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot 100.

Silver lining does exist for Jonas. “Chains,” the official follow-up to “Jealous,” is already one of pop radio’s forty most-played songs.
