Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” is One of Pop’s 5 Most-Played

As pop radio moves towards 2015, it does so with Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” as one of its top five songs.

The follow-up to “Stay with Me” this week became the format’s fourth-most-played song.

After leapfrogging Calvin Harris’ “Blame (featuring John Newman)” to claim #5 on Friday’s rolling Mediabase chart, the track surged past Maroon 5’s “Animals” to reach #4 on Saturday.

It earns that #4 position on the strength of the 12,043 spins Mediabase says it received between December 20 and 26.

Only Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” (17,475), Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” (14,228) and Ariana Grande & The Weeknd’s “Love Me Harder” (13,264) received more pop airplay within that window.

A multi-format hit, “I’m Not the Only One” is #3 on the rolling hot adult contemporary chart, #15 on the rolling rhythmic chart and #19 on the adult contemporary chart.
