Craig Wayne Boyd won season seven of “The Voice,” but when it comes to debut position on the Hot 100, none of his singles outperformed runner-up Matt McAndrew’s “Wasted Love.”
“Wasted Love,” the Team Adam member’s original single, opens at #14 on the all-encompassing Hot 100. Fueled by an opening week sales count of 209,000, it is the highest-ranking new entry on the chart.
The highest mark ever achieved by a “The Voice” recording, it also bests the debut position of Craig Wayne Boyd’s “My Baby’s Got a Smile On Her Face” by a whopping twenty places.
That song, which opens at #1 on Hot Country Songs, starts at #34 on the overall Hot 100.
McAndrew is also represented on the chart by #83 song “Lost Stars (with Adam Levine).” None of Boyd’s other performances appears on the latest listing.
Other “Voice” releases that do:
Chris Jamison’s “Velvet” – #53
Chris Jamison’s “Lost Without U” – #63
Damien’s “Soldier” – #74
