Hot 100: Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” Holds at #1, Hozier Jumps to #2

There might be a “Blank Space” atop the Billboard Hot 100, but there absolutely is no vacancy.

For the fourth consecutive week, Taylor Swift’s second “1989” single rules over Billboard’s all-encompassing track chart. Swift’s longest streak atop the Hot 100, the song’s four-week rule ties the total length of the reign enjoyed by previous single “Shake it Off.” That song, which introduced Swift’s “1989” era, enjoyed two separate two-week reigns.

The monotony atop the Hot 100 does not extend to the #2 position. Hozier’s breakthrough “Take Me to Church” grabs the spot this week, which sends Meghan Trainor’s former 8-week #1 down to #3. Maroon 5’s “Animals” and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” close out the top five at #4 and #5, respectively.

The aforementioned “Shake it Off” is #6 this week, which gives it the edge over Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” (#7) and Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” (#8). The latter, which was #13 on last week’s chart, makes its first top ten appearance this week.

Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” (#9) and Ariana Grande & The Weeknd’s “Love Me Harder” (#10) close out the top ten.
