Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing” Still Leads at Rock, Alt Radio

So distanced from the pack is Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing” that a weekly airplay decline at the active rock and alternative formats did not leave its throne vulnerable.

The band’s lead “Sonic Highways” single once again rules over the Mediabase active rock and alternative airplay charts.

“Something from Nothing,” which first reached the apex of the official active rock chart on October 26, holds its dominant position thanks to 2,019 weekly spins. Down 52 from last week’s count, the total nonetheless bests the 1,949 garnered by Five Finger Death Punch’s runner-up “Wrong Side of Heaven.”

Royal Blood’s “Figure it Out” (#3, 1,752 spins), Seether’s “Same Damn Life” (#4, 1,640) and Three Days Grace’s “I Am Machine” (#5, 1,550) hold the remaining top five spots this week.

The Foo Fighters’ latest tune first reached the top of the alternative radio mountain on November 23, and it earns a third consecutive week atop the chart this frame. “Something from Nothing” earned 2,864 alternative spins during the November 30 – December 6 tracking period, which gave it the edge over Hozier’s #2 “Take Me to Church” (2,490 spins), Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” (#3, 2,378 spins), Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” (#4, 1,913 spins) and Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” (#5, 1,780 spins).

“Something from Nothing” also holds onto the #1 spot on Mediabase’s lower-profile “Mainstream Rock” airplay chart.
