Hot 100: Nicki Minaj, Vance Joy, Meghan Trainor Reach Top 40 (Updated)

Ruled by Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” the weekly Billboard Hot 100 features movement at several key checkpoints.

Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” and Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” join “Blank Space” in reaching the top ten this week. They grab the #9 and #10 spots, respectively.

I LOVE MAKONNEN’s “Tuesday (featuring Drake),” Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type” and Mr Probz’ “Waves” enter the top twenty. The two songs rise to respective peaks of #12, #17 and #19.

Songs by Nicki Minaj, Vance Joy, Meghan Trainor and DJ Khaled, meanwhile, venture into the iconic Top 40 portion of the chart.

Minaj’s “Only (featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown)” rises sixteen places to a new high of #27. Joy’s breakthrough hit “Riptide” vaults fourteen places to #32 in conjunction with its growing presence at pop radio, while Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” surges twelve places to #38.

DJ Khaled’s “Hold You Down (featuring Chris Brown, August Alsina, Future and Jeremih)” improves by three places to #39.

Refusing to die, Pharrell’s “Happy” returns to the top 40 (at #37) this week.
