Ratings: “American Horror Story” Sinks to Season Low

Cable’s top-rated show by a significant margin, Wednesday’s “American Horror Story: Freak Show” provided little reason for objective complaint.

Relative to its own standards, however, it was a weak performer.

The latest edition of “AHS: Freak Show” drew a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating with 3.65 million viewers. Both numbers represented lows for the “Freak Show” season, which had not previously slipped beneath a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating or 4.22 million viewers.

It was also the first episode to trail its corresponding “AHS: Coven” installment in total viewers. The corresponding “Coven” episode drew a considerably stronger 2.3 adults 18-49 rating with 4.16 million viewers.

The “AHS” franchise nonetheless remains an irrefutable hit for FX, which has already ordered a fifth season. It has also given the greenlight to spin-off series “American Crime Story.”
