Ratings: “Happyland” Viewership Slides Despite Huge “Faking It” Boost

Despite receiving its strongest lead-in boost yet (from a viewership standpoint), Tuesday’s edition of “Happyland” endured a viewership decline.

This week’s episode, which was the MTV comedy’s seventh broadcast, drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating (rounded up from a 0.17) with 346,000 viewers. Both figures trailed those of the previous broadcast, which drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating (but an unrounded 0.20) with 371,000 audience members.

While the decline is not significant numerically, it is contextually disappointing given that lead-in series “Awkward” and “Faking It” both enjoyed dramatic improvements this week.

10PM flagship “Awkward,” which posted a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (rounded down from a 0.41) and 823,000 viewers last week, drew a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating (rounded down from a 0.51) and 1.268 million viewers this time.

Direct “Happyland” lead-in “Faking It,” meanwhile, delivered an improved 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (rounded up from a 0.36) with 912,000 audience members. Last week’s episode posted a 0.3 rating (rounded down from a 0.33) with 674,000 viewers.

This week’s “Faking It” audience total was the greatest achieved by a pre-“Happyland” episode.
