On track for a modest opening week sum in the 35-40,000 range, Nick Jonas’ new, self-titled release will get off to a considerably weaker start than the Nick Jonas & The Administration’s album did in 2010.
“Who I Am,” the side project’s first and only full-length album, debuted with 82,000 first-week sales in February 2010.
Per Hits Daily Double, Jonas’ new, solo release is tracking for a debut in the 35-40,000 range.
If that forecast holds, “Nick Jonas” will rank as the fourth- or fifth-best-selling new release. Foo Fighters’ “Sonic Highways” (180-200,000), Pink Floyd’s “The Endless” River” (140-160,000) and Garth Brooks’ “Man Against Machine” (125-145,000) will all sell considerably better, while Big KRIT’s “Cadillactica” is pacing for the same 35-40,000.
