Taylor Swift Removes, Then Reposts “Blank Space” Video (Watch Now)

Update 2: Despite talk that it would not be re-issued until Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” Taylor Swift has already posted the “Blank Space” video her official Vevo account.

Update: The video will officially “premiere”–and be re-released–during Tuesday’s “Good Morning America.”

==========

This past Friday, a viral video that synchronized Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” with a tacky 1980s aerobics clip was taken down due to a copyright claim by Universal Music Group.

Monday, an official Taylor Swift video was also removed from the online streaming world.

The video for Swift’s new single “Blank Space” has been removed from Yahoo! Screen, where it first emerged Monday morning.

According to Joseph Kahn, who directed the video, explains that it never should have been on Yahoo! in the first place.

“I’ll link video later when I think it’s clear. I think it may be a mistake on yahoo’s part – they may have released it early by accident,” initially wrote Kahn, before adding, “Yup. Yahoo effed up. Wait to see the Blank Space video. Let Taylor introduce it herself. It’ll be worth it :)”

Swift has yet to comment on the video or the leak.

While one cannot rule out the possibility that the accidental release and quick removal are part of a digital marketing strategy, the ultimate reality is that the video is not presently available in an official fashion.

Upon emerging Monday, the “Blank Space” video received rave reviews from viewers. Buzz over the video–and the subsequent removal–helped “Blank Space” pad its lead on the iTunes all-genre single sales chart.
