“Marry Me” Ratings Fall Again, But Show Receives 5 Extra Episodes

Last week, NBC let the proverbial ax swing on new comedies “Bad Judge” and “A to Z.”  Once they burn through their previously ordered thirteen episodes, their runs at the network will be over.

This week, it opted not to condemn “Marry Me” to the same fate.

Even though “Marry Me” slipped to a series low 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 4.54 million viewers this week, the show received an order for five additional episodes. The total episodic count for the first season will thus be 18.

Thanks partly due to its comparatively strong premiere showing and partly due to the lack of successful comedy launches this year, “Marry Me” currently ranks as network television’s second-best-rated comedy launch this season. Only ABC’s “black-ish” is thus far averaging stronger numbers.
