Ratings: The CW’s “Jane the Virgin” Holds Steady (Updated)

Update 2: While The CW’s “Jane the Virgin” did endure a slight hit in total viewership, it held steady in the adults 18-49 demographic.

According to Monday’s final ratings data, which adjusts for the previously noted football pre-emption, this week’s “Jane” drew a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 1.01 million viewers.  Last week’s broadcast scored a 0.4 with 1.09 million.

Earlier in the night, “The Originals” drew a 0.5 with 1.09 million.

Update: Due a football pre-emption in the New York market, fast national ratings for The CW are likely inflated and thus due to endure a downward adjustment in the finals.

As they stand prior that inevitable adjustment, “The Originals” drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.30 million viewers while “Jane the Virgin” posted a 0.6 and 1.42 million.

It might have already been picked up, but The CW’s 9PM drama “Jane the Virgin” has not been a potent performer in the ratings.

8PM entry “The Originals,” which got off to a hot start last season, has similarly failed to impress on Monday nights.

Neither changed that core outlook this week, but only one endured a decline.

“The Originals,” that declining show, slipped narrowly to a 1.0 overnight household rating. Since the conversion between overnights and demographic ratings is particularly imprecise when it comes to The CW, there is no guarantee the same drop will manifest in the show’s adults 18-49 number. There is, however, a guarantee that “The Originals” remains a reliable but unspectacular Monday night performer for the network.

“Jane the Virgin,” meanwhile, matched last week’s 0.9 household rating. Beginning with its premiere, “Jane” has drawn a 1.1, 1.0, 0.9 and 0.9.
