Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” Goes Top 30 at Pop, Iggy’s “Beg” Also Rises

“Lips are Movin” is furiously movin’ up the pop radio airplay chart.

The follow-up to Meghan Trainor’s blockbuster “All About That Bass” rises to #28 on Mediabase’s official pop radio airplay chart. “Lips are Movin” completes the twelve place jump thanks to the 2,535 pop spins it received during the October 26-November 1 tracking period.

That spin total represents a week-over-week gain of 1,368, which positions “Lips are Movin” as the format’s fifth-greatest gainer. Only Maroon 5’s #7 “Animals” (+2,710), Tove Lo’s #2 “Habits (Stay High)” (+2,594), Taylor Swift’s #31 “Blank Space” (+2,251) and Ariana Grande & The Weeknd’s #18 “Love Me Harder” (+1,440) enjoyed more significant airplay gains this week.

Iggy Azalea’s “Beg For It (featuring MØ),” the week’s sixth-greatest-gainer, also vaults into the Top 30 this week. After reaching the #39 spot in time for last week’s official chart, “Beg” surges to #30 this week on the strength of 2,493 weekly spins (with a weekly gain of 1,108).

Sure to fly far higher in the long run, “Beg for It” could, however, find its Top 30 standing under immediate fire from Taylor Swift’s new single “Blank Space.” That song officially debuts at #31 with only 238 fewer spins than the Azalea track.

— In addition to the Swift song, Chris Brown’s “New Flame (featuring Usher and Rick Ross)” also enters the Top 40 this week. It lands at #39 on the strength of 1,306 weekly spins.
