Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” is Already Up to #43 at Pop Radio

The top 40 of Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart seems to have a “Blank Space” reserved for Taylor Swift’s new single.

According to the outlet, the follow-up to “Shake it Off” is already the format’s 43rd-most-played song. It will have advanced into pop’s Top 40 by the time the chart goes official Sunday evening.

“Blank Space,” which first emerged late Sunday/early Monday as part of Swift’s new “1989” album, has thus far garnered 972 pop spins. 342 of those plays came Wednesday.

And thanks to its support within high-profile markets, “Blank Space” is performing even more impressively from an audience standpoint. Its current impression count of 8.92 million is the week’s 34th greatest for a song on the pop format.

Swift is also represented at pop by lead “1989” single “Shake it Off.” The track was the format’s most-played song between October 23 and 29.
