Ratings: MTV’s “Happyland” Viewership Up 50% Despite “Faking It” Decline

Last week, MTV’s new comedy “Happyland” took a sizable ratings hit even though its “Faking It” lead-in posted improved numbers.

This week, the freshman series roared back despite receiving weakened support from MTV’s 10:30PM entry.

Tuesday’s “Happyland” drew a 0.2 rating (an unrounded 0.20) with 404,000 viewers. The numbers best their counterparts from last week’s broadcast, which drew a 0.1 rating (rounded down from a 0.12) with 269,000 viewers.

Those sizable increases came despite declines in the “Faking It” data. After drawing a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (rounded up from a 0.36) with 713,000 viewers last week, the 10:30PM series this week posted a 0.4 rating (rounded up from a 0.35) with 687,000 viewers.

10PM flagship “Awkward,” meanwhile, posted a 0.4 rating (rounded down from a 0.43) with 824,000 viewers. Last week’s broadcast drew a considerably stronger 0.6 rating (rounded up from a 0.57) with 1.019 million audience members.
