Hot 100: Meghan Trainor Leads, Tove Lo’s “Habits” Hits New Peak

Sorry, “Fancy.” Your reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 is no longer the year’s lengthiest for a female release.

That honor now belongs to Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” which claims the top spot on the all-encompassing chart for an eighth consecutive week. “Fancy,” credited to Iggy Azalea with featured performer Charli XCX, ruled for seven weeks this summer.

For the eighth straight week, Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” claims the runner-up spot. A change, however, occurs at #3. Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High),” which is still making explosive gains at radio, rises to that position this week. It is the breakthrough song’s best Hot 100 ranking to date.

Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” settles for #4 this week, while Maroon 5’s “Animals” rises to #5. The Maroon 5 track brings a male act into the Top 5 after seven straight weeks of female domination.

Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” dips to #6, while Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em (featuring YG)” settles for #7. Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” rises one spot to #8.

Up 24 places, Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” works its way to a new high of #9. Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me” is the week’s #10 song.
